A Vision of wellness for all
When Kerry Sauser, ARNP, ND, PhD founded the Complementary Care Center in 2005, few
people in the area...or in the conventional medical field...realized the health benefits of
a complementary health philosophy.
Yet, Dr. Sauser, a licensed nurse practitioner and Doctor of Naturopathy, had a vision of
wellness for theSouthwest Iowa community where she lived and practiced. Five years
earlier, she had founded her practice, Natural Health Center, to provide folks with a
healing approach to health care, but to follow her recommendations, patients needed
easy access to organic foods and support therapies. There were none in the local area.
A true pioneer, Dr. Sauser took it upon herself to create a local healing center to insure
that a path to optimum health was provided in her community. She purchased an older
building in need of renovation and with the help of friends, shaped her vision in bricks
and mortar.
Five years later, The Complementary Care Center is a wellness dream come true. It
includes a health food store that offers organic, local and earth-friendly products to the
public, as well as Dr. Sauser's integrative health care practice, Natural Health Center.
Other health service providers at the Center are Radiant Health Imaging, Hypnosis
Success Center, Acupuncture & Herbal Health & Wellness, Essential Touch Massage,
Ortho-Bionomy by Paula Cross and Southwest Iowa Mediation Services.
